Workshop Overview This interactive workshop helps participants clarify their career goals and translate their skills into a professional, employer-ready résumé. Through guided coaching, hands-on writing time, and peer/coach feedback, participants will build confidence, language, and tools to pursue jobs, internships, and apprenticeships in today’s labor market. The workshop emphasizes career pathways, transferable skills, and industry-aligned résumé practices, preparing participants to present themselves competitively for entry-level roles and pre-apprenticeship/apprenticeship opportunities. Target Audience 1. Young adults and adults preparing to enter or re-enter the workforce 2. Participants in workforce development, CTE, or pre-apprenticeship programs 3. Career changers and underemployed workers seeking better-quality jobs By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to: 1. Identify career interests, strengths, and transferable skills aligned with in-demand occupations. 2. Articulate a clear career goal statement or short-term career objective. 3. Understand the purpose and structure of a professional résumé (chronological or combination format). 4. Translate education, work history, internships, and life experience into bullet points that show impact. 5. Tailor a résumé to a specific job posting or career pathway, including keywords and core competencies. 6. Describe next steps in their career action plan, including networking, applications, and follow-up. Participant Deliverables By the end of the workshop, each participant will have: 1. A draft or updated résumé in a standard format (Word/PDF). 2. A written career goal statement to guide next steps. 3. A short career action plan (next 30–60 days).
